I am a huge fan of IKEA, so when they challenged me to transform a space in my home using only textiles as a part of their new Quick and Easy textile campaign, I jumped at the chance. It was difficult choice, because, if I am honest, so many rooms in our home still need some love. I narrowed it down to two spaces—our older son's bedroom and our basement family room. The winner, due to lighting issues, was the basement family room/guest room.
It has been a year since I transformed our basement from a dreary toy-filled space to a colourful cozy spot for the kids and for guests. Although I love the bright patterns on the daybed, I thought it would be fun to create a more monocromatic look, with a little pop of colour (because I can't help it!).

I love the mix of geometric patterns! And I did it all for around $200! Textiles can truly transform a space.
