Well, yummy mummies, it's time for me to say goodbye. As most of you know, work-life balance is hard to achieve, harder still when you have so many projects on the go. So I'm signing off to dedicate more of my “free” time to my family.

It's been a great two (!!!) years with the Yummy Mummy Club. I've loved sharing my New Freakin' Mummy journey with you, and hearing your stories as well. Thank you for all your support and advice. And best of luck on your own journeys!!!

So as if a basement reno, new job and Zach starting daycare weren’t enough (you thought celebrities were demanding? You should see his daycare’s shopping list for me! And Mabel’s Labels, could you hook a sister up already?!), there is one more major hurdle that has been haunting me these past few weeks. That of the booty search.

Now I’m not talking about my own booty—that, poor thing, has been relegated to the bottom of my to-do list, somewhere after filing my taxes and having my itchy foot looked after. (Really, who has the time to work out anymore? Or see doctors?) Nope, I’m talking about my son’s freakishly sized feet that seem to defy any and all boots that I’ve bought for him, resulting in myriad trips to Wal-Mart, Payless and countless malls. (I love how there are millions of children’s clothing stores, but none that carry boots, as if all children wore slippers and Robeez in our hemisphere—despite our unusually mild weather of late. As if!)

WTF?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my hubby took Zach to daycare this week, he said all the kids have the exact same boots from Payless that I just brought back but that I can’t get on Zach’s feet so they must work. I said, Well why don’t you put them on then? Of course, he just blew it off as in, I’m too busy right now. But he was just afraid of the drama that ensues each time we try to fit a new pair on. I’m out of ideas. I can’t be this stupid. Or am I? There must be some riddle here. (That Zach is too cool for anything but Vans, perhaps?) Please help. Please help. Please help.

It’s snowing now and I’ll be the worst mother ever if he’s the only one in sneakers on a snow day. Don’t let me be that mother.

Kamik boots, MEC, Land's End. Alternatively, take your child to a children's shoe store for a fitting.

Stonz are the best! They are adorable, affordable and made in Canada to boot. (Sorry.) They will fit any kid's feet for months and can be worn alone or over other shoes or slippers. Okay, I sound like I work for them now. I don't but I bought some for my daughter and I love them. Like you said, it's impossible to find a good toddler boot.

There is a company called Stonz that make boots that have a toggle to make them form to the foot. Here is the link: http://www.stonzwear.com/ I think you can buy them at Ollys. Not sure if they will help, but it's worth a try.
