Top 5 Mother's Day Gift Ideas
Top 5 Mother's Day Gift Ideas
by YummyMummyClub.ca Moms

Guys: there are no excuses now. YummyMummyClub.ca asked 1,161 busy multitasking moms across Canada what they wanted for Mother’s Day.

From them to you – here is the official YummyMummyClub.ca approved Mother’s Day gift guide.  These “spoil-mommy” gifts ideas will give moms some much needed me-time, without breaking the bank.

The Spic and Span Plan

According to the survey, the #1 most desired Mother’s Day gift was a day off from mundane household chores.  So surprise mom this year with a completely clean house by calling a cleaning service a few days in advance of Mother’s Day.  Many companies offer affordable one-visit only rates, and this way, mom can really enjoy Mother’s Day at home without worrying about what needs to be done.

On a budget?  Make a pact with the kids and together, promise mom a clean, clutter-free home for an entire week for Mother’s Day.  The big project can even include “Yummy Mummy Free Zones” around the house, such as the laundry room, and kitchen – to make sure mom is truly off those clean-and-organize duties.

The “Cuz Mummy Needs to Play Too!” Package (note: not for the kids!)

Who says Mother’s Day can’t be sexy? Make it her night complete with sexy lingerie, decadent chocolates, a “toy” chest, a full body massage, and significant foreplay with her significant other!

The Made-for-Mummy Baskets

These are two part gifts.

Part 1: Create a yummy, tailored gift basket just for her.  If she loves books, give her gift cards to the neighbourhood bookstore and her favourite coffee shop.  If she’s a movie buff, how about certificates for the movies, or assemble her collection of favourites with popcorn and treats for an at-home movie marathon.  If she loves gardening, get her some of the latest gardening tools and/or seeds for her favourite flowers and vegetables.  Make the baskets as big as your budget can handle.

Part 2: Cover off her regular mom-duties with the kids, and give her the afternoon off, day off, or even the night off to enjoy doing her favourite things.  Most moms, according to the survey, are just looking for some low-key pampering for Mother’s Day.  This way, mom can choose some alone time, time with her friends, or fabulous family time away from the daily grind.

A Yummy Makeover

The second most desired Mother’s Day gift reported by members of YummyMummyClub.ca across Canada was a yummy makeover. While signing her up for a reality TV makeover show may be a bit risqué, a rejuvenating day at the spa is a fail-proof option. On a tight budget, consider preparing a luxurious aromatherapy bubble bath with flower petals and scented candles for mom, and add her favourite music for a spa-like experience right at home.

The Gift Of Time

Moms spend their days running around doing stuff for everyone else in the family.  Give the mom in your life the gift of time this Mother's Day. Simply arrange the day and time (it doesn't have to be on Mother's Day) where the kids are taken care of and she can go out and do what she wants - shopping, reading, napping, exercising, driving, visiting, strolling, eating, relaxing...or nothing at all.  The gift is getting to do what she wants without having to worry about anyone else.  That's not too much to ask one day a year, is it?

Now it's your turn to be yummy!  Help save Mother's Day for every woman out there and forward this to every man you know!
