By the time you purchase the frames and get them exactly where you like them, creating a gallery art wall can be tricky and expensive. I came across a product that takes all of the guesswork (and nail holes) out of the way. Indie Mats are a colourful and simple way to create a gallery wall with no nails and no frames.
The vibrant colours and patterns make them perfect for children's rooms.
I am kind of obsessed with round photos right now so I am loving the circle mats.
You can customize the mats with a monogram which would be so sweet for a nursery.
I would LOVE to use a set like these for the million instagram photos I took of our beachy summer vacation:
Or maybe these:
Indie mats are available in many configurations. With prices starting at $18 for a set of two, they suit any budget. Shop all of their colourful options here.
I am always inspired when I come home to Nova Scotia. This summer I want to share with you two incredibly talented Nova a Scotian artsts, Tom Alway and Peter Blais. I have loved their work for a long time but this is the first summer in ages that I have been able to spend time with them in their quant gallery, called The Maritime Painted Saltbox.
Their work captures Nova Scotia perfectly. The images and the colours say home to me.
Just look:

If you are on the South Shore, their gallery is a must-see. They also have a selection of reproduction heritage furniture, folk art and prints. You can order prints of many of their paintings on their website.
I could literally buy almost everything there but there was one piece in particular that I have become a tad obsessed with this summer. I am thrilled to say that this beautiful original painting by Tom is coming home with my to Ontario, as an anniversary gift from my hubby. How lucky am I?!
